Ethylene Vinyl Acetate (EVA) - Solar Grade
مصنع أسيتات إيثيلين الفاينيل (EVA) - درجة الطاقة الشمسية | Ethylene Vinyl Acetate (EVA) - Solar Grade Manufacturing Plant
Saudi Arabia is deploying capital at an unprecedented scale to become a global leader in solar power generation. The Kingdom's renewable energy targets require the installation of tens of gigawatts of solar capacity, creating a colossal and sustained demand for solar panels. However, a critical component within every single one of those panels—the encapsulant film that protects the solar cells and ensures their 25-year lifespan—is almost entirely imported. This encapsulant is made from a specific, high-value grade of a petrochemical copolymer: Ethylene Vinyl Acetate (EVA).
While Saudi Arabia is a world leader in producing the upstream ethylene monomer, it has not yet bridged the gap to producing high-Vinyl Acetate (VA) content EVA required for photovoltaic (PV) encapsulation. This is a specialized, high-margin material, distinct from the commodity-grade EVA used for foams and footwear. The production process requires a high-pressure autoclave or tubular reactor technology capable of achieving a precise VA content (typically 28-33%) and a high degree of clarity, purity, and long-term stability against UV radiation and heat.
